Invalid URL Fix, Other Updates
by rsanek on May.27, 2009, under Uncategorized
The problem that was plaguing petaIMG for so long with our old host is now gone. We’re now with a new hosting company (the second in one year) that was able to fix the issues with this problem.
We’re still working on a new design that should be easier to navigate along with a user control panel and more options for your uploads, such as saving image URLs that you’ve previously uploaded to your account and having special options that non-registered users won’t. Although this may seem to go against one of our principles, the core of our service will remain completely free with optional registration. If a feature can be implemented that does not require registration, that feature will be available to all. However, options such as saved URLs cannot be attained without some degree of user tracking.
We hope that our service is helping you with your image needs. So far, we’ve been getting very positive feedback and have had a steady stream of image uploads coming in. If you’ve got anything to say to us (even if it’s bad), just contact us using this form. We’d love to hear from you.
More Updates
by rsanek on Mar.21, 2009, under Uncategorized
We’ve gotten to work on some more features people told us from feedback. We now have 500 folders to upload the files into, and also have made it so that your file name is visible, along with a couple of numbers to aviod overwriting. Continuity of the site has been improved, and now the whole website, including all the pages and the blog, are both valid HTML and CSS. Acessibility, one of our principles, in action.
Some extesions have also been added. We’re always open to any suggestions. Just use the contact form. Another issue we need to address is the problem with the invalid url page showing up. It has happened to people all over the world in very random spaces. I experience it myself sometimes as well. We’re all working on it here at petaIMG, and we’re hoping this recent change of filenames and their storage space will help.
And finally, we hate to be beggars, but the ads (as you can imagine) are not yielding much money. As all companies, we have server costs and of course time goes into this. We’d really appreciate it if any of you could donate. Every penny counts.
Service Update
by rsanek on Jan.04, 2009, under Uncategorized
Our free image hosting service is going on nicely, as we’ve received much positive feedback over the last couple of weeks, with traffic up as well. We’ve also been alerted of the problem of some users being unable to access the site in different locations around the world and at different times. We’re still investigating this issue, and we should have this resolved promptly.
If you’ve noticed, we’ve created a new directory for the files. We are continually updating our upload script to best suit our user’s needs, and we will have plenty of free directories available for upload soon.
We’ve made another change for the better as well - if you’ll look at the bottom of our homepage, you’ll see valid HTML and CSS icons. We’ve cleaned up our code (at least on the homepage), and soon, our whole website will be valid HTML and CSS. We’re making sure the site is the most accessible and fastest to get to.
We’re trying our best here at petaIMG, and, as always, we welcome your feedback, be it good or bad.

PR Update
by rsanek on May.07, 2008, under Uncategorized
The Google PageRank update has come, and we’re looking good. All of the sites in the network are a pr 3, and rssdesi.com is a pr 4, so we’re going strong. petaIMG has been receiving some major uploads, now with over 1,500 uploads, and counting. We’re still developing most of the other sites, so stay tuned.
petaIMG - Security Update
by rsanek on Dec.03, 2007, under Uncategorized
A file in the form of a virus has been uploaded via the petaIMG uploader. We have removed the file in question, all other files should be fine.
petaIMG, Proxicle.com, prHuge.com, petaUPLOAD
by rsanek on Nov.12, 2007, under Uncategorized
petaIMG seems to be off to a promising start, as the ad revenue and upload count is going up. Proxicle is now not a proxy, but it has over 200 different proxies that you can access from school that work! If you have a proxy and it’s not listed, just tell us and we’ll take care of it. The prHuge.com template is also done, and all of the bidding system is working, so buy cheap links! We’re having a special - get 2 links for the price of 1! Just contact us with the second link, and we’ll add it within 24 hours manually. petaUPLOAD is still searching for a decent uploading script. We can’t use the script we have for petaIMG, because it doesn’t work with larger files. We’re working on another job at RSS Designs, we should get the portfolio a little more refined in the near future.
prHuge.com, Proxicle.com

As I’ve posted earlier, Proxicle.com is now not a proxy but a proxy list. Go there to find over 100 working proxies that you can use at school/work! prHuge.com is also fully functional, so start buying links for $1!

petaUPLOAD news

We’re still looking for a good script for big uploads, so The site’s still going to be under construction for a while, but will be up soon. It should be up by next week, if we find a good script. The template is already finished, looks sick.
